Spring in Norway

We all love warm countries for their fine weather and gentle sunshine. Nevertheless, I accepted an invitation to take part in another exhibition organized by Sensorium Gallery

in rugged yet nonetheless appealing Norway, in the town of Stavern. And I was not mistaken! The climate in Norway is quite mild; spring arrives earlier than in central Russia, and there is plenty of sunshine as well. But, of course, the country’s greatest treasure is its people. In Norway we were welcomed warmly—as, indeed, we had been the previous time—like old friends; the newspaper even called me “the Russian friend of Norway.” Those who know Norwegian can see this for themselves in the reviews of the exhibition in the local press. Despite the demanding work, the days flew by unnoticed, and it was a little sad to part with a country that is not nearly as cold as it seems from afar. Some of the works painted there can be viewed in the gallery. I would like to express special gratitude to the gallery owner, Mrs. Marina Walle Jensen, and to her husband, Trond Walle Jensen, for creating a magnificent atmosphere for guests and exhibitors.
